Hello FWB crew!
Cole checking in here with a quick recap post with some of my favorite pictures and notes from my recent trip to South America. We went to 3 countries, Columbia, Argentina and Peru, highlights to come below 🙂.

Colombia
What a wonderful place. Medellín quickly became one of my favorite cities I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. Nestled in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains, it had so many unique and fun neighborhoods to explore. The people of Columbia were also incredibly friendly and welcoming, its a place where you never really feel like a stranger.

Argentina
We spent all of our time in Buenos Aires, which is a super fun city where apparently nobody sleeps? My favorite night was probably our dinner at Don Julio, a world renowned steak house. Me and Anna are not fancy folk, so when we were waiting outside for our table to be ready being handed glasses of wine and Hors D’oeuvres (had to google that spelling) with a tour of their wine cellar that nobody but us seemed to get, we felt like the most welcome imposters. My 1kg T-Bone steak served to me at 11pm was certainly the latest and largest steak I’ve consumed, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat. As we were finishing up at 11:45pm, a family was just sitting down for dinner with their 2-3 year old daughter, a testament to the city that truly never slept.

Peru
Our favorite stop of all. Talk about a place with truly incredible food… We spent most of our time in Cusco, a wonderful historical city 12,000 feet up in the Andes. Small cobblestone streets, amazing restaurants and lots of huffing and puffing walking up the hills in the high altitude.
The highlight of Peru however was Machu Picchu of course. What a magical place. We hiked up from the base town of Aguas Calientes at 4:30am to arrive at the top for our 6am entry. The early morning setting with ever-changing cloud cover and golden sunlight basking this incredible scene atop the mountains was truly something magical. Many moments up there of feeling an intense connectivity to my Dad and all the other loved ones we have watching over us, truly a heavenly setting. If any of you decide to go, please do opt for the 6am ticket. We were able to walk through without anyone around us for most of the time beyond the main viewpoint at the start, and already by 8am it was starting to get very very crowded.
With that said, enjoy my attempts at capturing the magic of it in photo form 📸.

With love,
Cole
Wow - what a trip you took. I love how you described your adventures, similar in style to the letters your dad wrote from his travels in the late 80s. He was surely smiling as he traveled with you both to South America. 💕
Sounds amazing Cole! Now I wanna go…
